Girls pick up first win in home opener, boys off to 4-1 start
Eden Prairie has yet to give up more than one goal, sitting at 4-1 ahead of Tuesday’s Lake Conference match at Wayzata which is the fourth consecutive away match.
The Eagles used a goal and assist from senior midfielder Joey Kolleh and one goal and assist from senior captain Sean Kurtenbach.
The win came on the heels of a 1-0 conference opening loss at Minnetonka on Sept. 5.
The Eagles host Hopkins in the second home match of the season on Thursday before embarking on the annual team trip to Fargo where they face Fargo South on Friday and Fargo Sheyenne on Saturday.
Eden Prairie seniors Shanna Hall and Sophia Truempi and junior Megan Dohmen provided the scoring in a 3-2 win at Prior Lake on Saturday while senior goalkeeper Meghan Kuntz made two saves for the first win of the season.
The Eagles came up short against Minnetonka in the conference opener on Tuesday, Sept. 5 by a similar result from the boys match, 1-0.
Eden Prairie traveled to Wayzata on Tuesday before starting a four match home stand which begins Thursday in the first game of a soccer doubleheader against Hopkins at 5 p.m. The boys will follow at 7 p.m.
