Uber driver hospitalized following assault: Richfield Police reports

For Aug. 23-29, Richfield Police responded to the following calls:

Aug: 23 – Two suspects were arrested for possession of burglary tools after police responded to the 6600 block of 15th Avenue on a report of a theft from a vehicle around 2:45 a.m.

Police took a delayed report of a burglary on the 1300 block of East 66th Street around 7:30 a.m.

A theft in an amount over $500 was reported at Candlewood Sites around 10:30 a.m.

Police arrested an adult male for domestic assault strangulation on the 6300 block of Pleasant Avenue around 1:15 p.m.

Aug. 24 – A man was arrested on the 6200 block of Newton Avenue around 3 a.m. for tampering with a vehicle.

Following a report of an individual trying to break into a house on the 7400 block of Third Avenue, police arrested a man around 6:30 a.m. for violating an order for protection.

A victim on the 6400 block of Irving Avenue reported around 6:30 a.m. that a gun was stolen from his vehicle.

Aug. 25 – Around 1:45 p.m., police received a report of a tree trimming scam that took place on the 7300 block of Fremont Avenue.

A juvenile teen on the 7400 block of Cedar Avenue told police around 4:15 p.m. that her ex-boyfriend was threatening to share explicit photos via social media.

Police took a report of a theft from a vehicle at Target around 8:30 p.m.

Aug. 26 – Responding to a vehicle crash on the 7600 block of Cedar Avenue around 2:45 a.m., police arrested a male for narcotics possession.

A restraining order violation was reported on the 7300 block of Penn Avenue around 6:45 p.m.

Police arrested a driver for fourth-degree DWI at East 66th Street and Richfield Parkway around 1:30 a.m.

Aug. 27 – An adult male and a juvenile male were arrested at Motel 6 around 7:30 a.m. for credit card fraud and possession of dangerous weapons and narcotics

The theft of vehicle parts was reported on the 900 block of Rae Drive around 11:45 a.m.

A theft from a vehicle was reported at Four Points by Sheraton around 1:45 p.m.

Aug. 28 – A victim on the 7500 block of 18th Avenue reported around 3 a.m. that her husband struck her on her head, causing a laceration.

A male was arrested after harassing and threatening construction workers at East 66th Street and 11th Avenue around 9 a.m.

Around 3:15 p.m., a resident on the 600 block of East 78th Street reported ongoing harassment involving a neighbor.

A theft for a loss of $1,750 was reported at a business on the 7500 block of Lyndale Avenue around 3:45 p.m.

A shoplifting resulting in a loss of about $240 was reported at Target around 4:15 p.m.

A victim on the 6200 block of Irving Avenue reported a violation of an order for protection around 5:45 p.m.

Aug. 29 – Uber driver assaulted: According to a delayed report made around 9:15 p.m., an Uber driver was assaulted at Elliott Avenue and East 74th Street. According to Lt. Mike Flaherty, the 35-year-old male victim was taken to a hospital after confronting a passenger who was kicking the victim’s vehicle. After the driver returned the passenger to the pick-up location because the requested destination was too far, the passenger began punching the victim, who later noted a laceration on his arm, according to Flaherty.

Responding to CVS Pharmacy around 11 a.m., police arrested two parties for theft, outstanding warrants and giving false information.
