Fairview Health Services has been named to the 2017 edition of Becker’s Hospital Review’s “110 Accountable Care Organizations to Know,” for the sixth year in a row.
The list recognizes accountable care organizations from across the country based on their excellence in quality, achievements in driving down cost and ability to grow and take on risk.
An accountable care organization is a group of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers who come together voluntarily to give coordinated, high-quality care. By working directly with insurance companies and other payers, they work to find opportunities for cost savings through enhanced coordination of services.
“Providing high-quality care that’s affordable for our patients is what our providers and staff strive for each and every day,” said Patrick Herson, MD, Fairview Medical Group president. “We want our patients to experience seamless transitions across our services when they come to us for care, and we’re proud that our work in ACOs is being recognized.”
Fairview has been named to this list every year since 2012, when it was first published by Becker’s Hospital Review. Fairview is one of only three accountable care organizations in Minnesota to be named to the list this year.
Becker’s Hospital Review is the leading magazine for hospital business news and analysis for hospital and health system executives.
