Federal Reserve Bank president/CEO speaks at Edina Rotary meeting

Neel Kashkari of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis was the featured speaker at the Rotary Club of Edina’s Aug. 17 meeting.

More than 250 Rotarians from many clubs in the area attended the meeting at the Edina Country Club.

Kashkari, who used the meeting as a sort of town hall forum, took office as president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis in January 2016. In this role, he serves on the Federal Open Market Committee, bringing the Fed’s Ninth District’s perspective to monetary policy discussions in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his responsibilities as a monetary policy maker, Kashkari oversees all operations of the bank, including supervision and regulation, and payments services. He is on the Board of the Economic Club of Minnesota and the Twin Cities PBS (TPT) President’s Council.

The Rotary Club of Edina meets 12:15 p.m. Thursdays, at the Edina Country Club, 5100 Wooddale Ave.
