On Aug. 8, Eden Prairie Police Captain Greg Weber swore in the department’s two newest officers, Tino Starke and Jayden DeVilbiss.

Officer Starke was born and raised in Germany and spent more than seven years working for the Polizeiinspektion Ansbach Police Department. He then moved to the United States and received an
associate’s degree in criminal justice from Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin and served as a police officer for five years in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Officer DeVilbiss is originally from Ossian, Iowa. He graduated from Luther College in Iowa where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and was a member of the Luther College wrestling team. He received his skills certification from Fond du Lac Tribal Community College. Prior to coming to Eden Prairie Officer DeVilbiss worked at a juvenile residential treatment
facility in Duluth.

Both officers will spend the next three to four months in the department’s field training program before working on patrol by themselves.
