Third District Rep. Erik Paulsen took to Twitter Aug. 12 to condemn views expressed by white supremacist groups and others in Charlottesville, North Carolina, over the weekend.
“There is no place in civil, respectful society for the horrid views expressed & violence in Charlottesville,” said Paulsen in the first of three tweets on the matter. “We must be united, not divided.”
It was widely reported that a man drove a car through a crowd of people demonstrating in Charlottesville, killing one woman and injuring more than a dozen others. Paulsen called the incident “an act of domestic terrorism,” and expressed his condolences to the victims and their loved ones.
Lastly, Paulsen’s third tweet issued a call to “reject all forms of bigotry, by white supremacist groups or any group that attempts to spread hate and violence.”
