The Edina High football team is planning a dinner, plus live and silent auctions, as a fund-raiser for the fall season.
The event will be at Interlachen Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18. Those attending will have an opportunity to bid on silent auction items beginning at 6 p.m., when the social hour gets underway.
A dinner will follow at 7:15, and comedian-magician Bill Arnold put on a show. The evening will conclude with a live auction at 9 p.m.
“We have some fantastic live auction items this year,” said football parent Jay Carroll.
The committee for the event is seeking financial donations as well as auction items.

The annual Ed Hendrickson Memorial Edina varsity-alumni cross country scrimmage is set for Saturday, Aug. 19, at Pamela Park.
There will be four races that day: Junior high girls at 8:45 a.m., junior high boys at 8:55, high school-alumni women at 9:10 and high school-alumni men at 9:30.
Awards and refreshments will follow the races. The entry fee of $10 per person will benefit the Edina boys and girls cross country programs.
