Hockey equipment drive
Eden Prairie Hockey Association is organizing a used hockey equipment drive through August 20 at the Eden Prairie Community Center. The association is looking for any used equipment that is in good condition to be used for the Try Hockey Night, August 23. The need is the greatest for skates in kids size 8 through adult 3 and sticks. Collection boxes are located near the entry to Rinks 1 and 3.
Activity passes allow fans to enter seasonal or school-year Eden Prairie High School activities and sports for one pre-paid fee all season, which goes to benefit all student activities at the high school. Passes are available at Parent-Coach-Athlete meetings, the high school activities office, Spirit Store and home sporting events. Info: ephsboosters.com/activity-passes
Registration is now open for all Eden Prairie High School fall sports through edenpr.org and edenprairie.feepay.com. A current physical much be on file with the school to complete registration.
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) will host a parent workshop from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 22 at the EPHS Auditorium titled: “Second Goal Parents: Developing Winners in Life Through Sports.”
Eden Prairie Girls Basketball Association will host free open gym time at the Eden Prairie High School Activity Center (Courts 3 and 4) from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through August 22. At least one adult will be present to supervise with no organized instruction or coaching by the EPGBA.
EPGBA traveling team registration is open through September 2. A $50 late fee will be applied for registration after August 26. Tryouts will be at Eden Prairie High School on September 8 and 10. Grades 4-6 will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. followed by Grades 7-8 from 7:45-9:15 p.m. On Sunday, Grades 4-6 will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. and Grades 7-8 from 2:45-4:15 p.m.

Timberwolves and Lynx Academy Summer Camp is coming to the Eden Prairie High School Activity Center August 21-25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is open boys and girls going into third-eighth grades with a $299 fee. with Info: Timberwolvesbasketballacademy.com
Eden Prairie Boys Basketball Association has established a financial aid program allow boys with more advanced skills the opportunity to play against stronger competition. The EPBBA will offer a scholarship program to cover $200 of the $300 travel fee if a player is a recipient of a free or reduced school lunch. A base fee of $105 or $120 (depending on grade level) will be the responsibility of the family. Info: epbba.org
Fastpitch pitching clinic
Gustavus Adolphus head coach Britt Stewart will lead an hour-long weekly pitching clinic at Miller Park (Field 7) each Wednesday through August 16. 8U meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m. ($20); 10U meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. ($30) and 12U meets from 7:30-8:30 p.m. ($30). All pitchers must have someone present to catch pitches, EP Fastpitch encourages catchers to sit on a five-gallon bucket. Padded lids are available many places. Info: epfastpitch.com
Eden Prairie Football Association jamboree scrimmages will be 6-8 p.m. August 22 with fifth grade at EPHS Turf A; fourth grade at EPHS Field E and third grade at EPHS Field F. Sixth-eigth grade will scrimmage 6-8 p.m. August 23 with sixth grade at EPHS Turf A, seventh grade at EPHS Turf B and eighth grade at the Aeirie Stadium from 7-9 p.m. All EPFA games start August 28-30.
Hendrickson Foundation Golf Festival
Join the Hendrickson Foundation in helping raise funds to support Minnesota Wild Sled Hockey, Minnesota Warriors Hockey and Minnesota Special Hockey during the foundation’s annual golf festival August 17 at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Lakevile. Registration opens at 9 a.m. with an 11 a.m. shotgun start and a reception to follow approximately beginning at 4 p.m. that includes dinner, auction and awards.
