Art show at Richfield grad school highlights work by people with dementia

An art show at Adler Graduate School is celebrating the voices of older adults with dementia.

The Richfield school hosts the show, “I am Here,” from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Aug. 10. The event is meant to serve as a reminder that people with dementia remain vigorous participants in society.

“We are all creative throughout our lifespan,” said Patty Crawford, who manages Augustana Open Circle, which offers individuals with dementia challenging opportunities for self-expression.

Participants from Open Circle will have their work displayed at the exhibit, with a choir from the same program set to perform at 10:45 a.m.

Adler Graduate School is located at 1550 East 78th Street, Richfield. For more information, contact Augustana Open Circle Program Director Mark Rosen at [email protected] or 952-935-8134.
