Two Lake Conference lacrosse doubleheaders highlight prep sports action on Thursday, May 18.
Minnetonka will host Eden Prairie, with the boys game at 5:30 p.m. and the girls game to follow at 7:30.
Hopkins will visit Wayzata High Stadium for games against the Trojans, with the boys playing at 5:30 and the girls at 7:30.
Edina steps outside the Lake Thursday, as the Hornet boys host Bloomington Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. at Kuhlman Field. The Edina girls have a 5:30 game against Blake School on Blake’s Hopkins campus turf.
In 6:30 p.m. Lake Conference baseball matchups Friday, May 19, Wayzata will play Minnetonka at Minnetonka High’s Veterans Field and Hopkins will travel south to play Eden Prairie at Eden Prairie’s Round Lake Stadium. The Edina Hornets have the Lake Conference bye Friday.
Hopkins has a non-conference game against St. Louis Park at noon Saturday, May 20, at the Hopkins High ball diamond.
As many as three Lake Conference schools could win their way to the State Class AA Tennis Tournament this spring. Minnetonka, the defending state AA champion has opened defense of its Section 2AA title. Wayzata is one of the top contenders in Section 5AA, while Edina is expected to be in the running for the Section 6AA championship.
