The Richfield School District’s food services department has introduced a smartphone app that provides details on schools’ culinary offerings.
The app includes pictures and descriptions of each day’s menu, including nutritional information, making it easier to determine allergens in food in addition to the convenience.
“It’s a win-win for everybody. Parents now have the ability to see what their kids are eating by viewing the app’s nutritional and allergen information. Students can easily see daily menu options and the nutritional information,” said Pam Haupt, district food service supervisor.
Like districts from across the country, Richfield has partnered with software maker Nutrislice to offer the app, which is available in the Apple App Store for iPhones and in Google Play for Android phones. Richfield’s menus can also be viewed online, at richfield.nutrislice.com.
