Climate Lobby meeting Sept. 12 in Eden Prairie

The September Citizens’ Climate Lobby will meet at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie, 16515 Luther Way. The meeting will feature a presentation and discussion of “The Conservative Case for a Carbon Tax” presented by Jerry Taylor, President of the Niskanen Center, a libertarian think tank. His paper on the same topic can be seen at tinyurl.com/ConservativeCaseForACarbonTax

Prior to founding the Niskanen Center in 2014, Mr. Taylor spent 23 years at the Cato Institute, where he served as director of natural resource studies, assistant editor of Regulation magazine, senior fellow, and then vice president.

Citizen Climate Lobby is an organization with local chapters across the U.S.A. and Canada. Its purpose is to create the political will to resolve the problem of climate change. CCL advocates for a fee on carbon emissions with 100% of the proceeds from the fee distributed as a dividend to U.S. households.
