“Spaulding,” the bronze statue of a dog outside of Salut Bar Americain at 50th and France, looks on as a group gathers to celebrate the successful fundraising effort to purchase the statue from artist Heidi Hoy. The statue was a yearlong temporary display. With the purchase, the dog will now be a permanent sculpture outside of Salut. A small ceremony was held on Friday, Nov. 1, for the change in ownership. More than $7,000 in funds were raised for the purchase with the help of Salut and its customers, the city of Edina, the Edina Community Foundation, the Edina Public Art Committee, the Edina Lion’s Club and businesses like Marks Group Wealth Management.
