New Hope man dies in car accident in Eden Prairie

Police carA 23 year-old New Hope man is dead following a car accident Thursday near the intersection of Eden Prairie Road (Hwy. 4) and Park Terrace Drive in Eden Prairie.

On Thursday, Aug. 1 at approximately 8 p.m., the Eden Prairie Police and Fire Departments responded to the single vehicle accident. The man, Kyle Boline was traveling south in a Chevrolet Corvette on Eden Prairie Road with one other adult male occupant. Near the intersection of Kurtz Lane, the vehicle left the roadway and struck two utility poles before rolling over and coming to a stop. Both occupants, who were ejected from the vehicle, were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where Boline succumbed to his injuries at 9:24 p.m., according the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s report.

A preliminary investigation indicates excessive speed likely played a role in the accident. The resulting property damage, which occurred when the vehicle struck two utility poles, also caused a temporary power outage in portions of Eden Prairie.

The Eden Prairie Police and Fire Departments were assisted on the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

Cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. Manner of death is an accident, according to the Medical Examiner’s report.

Eden Prairie Police and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and no further details are available at this time.
