Eden Prairie students add up in math competition

Frank Han, a Cedar Ridge sixth-grader, had a great showing at the Mathcounts chapter competition in Edina Feb. 2 and will advance to the state tournament in March. Frank placed second overall in individual competition and first in the fast-paced, single elimination countdown round. The CMS team placed third overall, potentially allowing them to become the “wild card” team for the state competition.
Seventh-grader Matthew Schachter led the CMS team with a 10th place finish at the chapter competition. The meet included more than 110 students in grades 6-10 from 15 middle schools in the Twin Cities metro area.
