Eden Prairie Kinderberry to host book drive

Kinderberry Hill Child Development Center in Eden Prairie is hosting a children’s book drive to benefit the local nonprofit organization Read Indeed in honor of “Read Across America Day.”
The drive will take place Feb. 18 to March 1.  The community is encouraged to bring donations of new and gently-used children’s books to Kinderberry Hill, located at 10160 Hennepin Town Road, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Read Across America Day is an annual event that encourages adults to take time to read with a child.  It is celebrated March 2, the anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Read Indeed was started by Maria Keller, a book-loving 7th grader from Plymouth. She hopes to collect and distribute 1 million books to needy children by the time she is 18.
“Our staff and teachers are passionate about nurturing a love of books at an early age,” said Heidi Olson, Executive Director of Kinderberry Hill, Eden Prairie.  “We are thrilled to assist an inspiring young lady like Maria Keller as she spreads the joy of reading to children around the world.”
This is the second year of Kinderberry Hill’s book drive.  Nearly 1,150 books were collected at Kinderberry Hill’s six locations last year.
