University of Minnesota Evans Scholars Chapter House member Paul Stadem of Eden Prairie has been named the 2012 Minnesota Golf Association’s Fritz Corrigan Evans Scholar of the Year.
Stadem received that honor Nov. 5 at the MGA’s 112th Annual Awards Dinner at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska.
Stadem was honored aong with outstanding players, volunteers and club representatives for their contribution to the amateur game of golf in Minnesota.
Stadem is a senior and biochemistry major at the University of Minnesota in the College of Biological Sciences. He caddied at Bearpath Golf and Country Club in Eden Prairie. He maintains a 3.98 GP and has spent six semesters on the Dean’s List, earning a perfect 4.00 five of his six semesters.
Stadem has also provided many hours of community volunteer service. He volunteers at the Ebenezer Nursing Home and the English Language Center on the U of M campus. Stadem is employed as a biology teaching and research assistant.
Stadem resides in the Evans Scholars chapter house located on campus where he served a a scholar educator and chapter president.
The Chick Evans Scholarship program is a four-year college scholarship for deserving caddies, sponsored by the Western Golf Association in association with the MGA. There are currently 865 Evans Scholars attending 19 universities around the country.
