50th and France plans holiday festivities

An afternoon of festivities will culminate with a tree lighting ceremony at 50th and France.

The 50th and France Business Association will be hosting the festivities beginning at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24.

Visits with Santa will take place 3:30-5:30 p.m. The Edina High School Chamber Singers will perform at 3 p.m. until the tree lighting by Edina City Councilmember Ann Swenson at 5 p.m. Ashley Ballet Arts Academy dancers will perform excerpts from the Nutcracker and Nutcracker soldiers will be marching in for the countdown to the lighting of the tree. Free beverages will be available throughout the afternoon.

A food and clothing drive will also be held during the festivities to benefit the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota.
